siblings' names: none. her mother wasn't a 'kid person' anyway, beth was an accident and her mother said she'd never go through the pain of labour again.

roleplay sample: lily ran her finger across the head girl badge pinned to her robes proudly. she was unbelievably pleased about being made head girl and had written a personal thank you to dumbledore. she hadn’t posted it though, eventually. she’d wimped out. but she knew she’d be sure to thank him a million times over when he gave her and the head boy the password to to their common room. that’s what everyone had told her would happen anyway, but she didn’t actually know how it worked. speaking of the head boy though, she had no idea who he was. she’d immediately written to all her friends after the initial ‘oh my god, oh my god, oh my god!’ and screaming and jumping about as it fell out of her letter from hogwarts. she wasn’t expecting it at all. she’d actually opened it as if it was a normally hogwarts letter. her friends had said she would get it when they broke apart at kings cross for the summer and she’d thought about it a couple of times over the summer but when the time came to open her letter she forgot about it entirely initially and was just excited to see what her booklist would be.
and then that shiny badge was face down on the kitchen table and after a second of staring in confusion and a few seconds of nerves and excitement filling her she’d reached for it and turned it over before she stood up, scraping the kitchen chair back and squeeled and giggled and turned into a five year old for ten minutes. eventually though, she had written to her friends all exciteable and asked if any of them knew who the head boy was. they’d all said she’d find out when they got to hogwarts without making it clear whether they knew who it was or not and they kept it that way right up until kings cross. she looked around her, up and down the platform before making her way onto the train and to the prefect’s compartment.
as she slid the noisy door open the compartment silenced and all eyes were on her which made her a bit nervous. she smiled before one of the prefects stood up and gave her a congratulations hug though the congratulations was sat with nerves evident in their voice. lily hugged her back with one arm while looking nervously over her shoulder, worried at why everyone was acting like this and looking for clues. she looked to the table for official looking papers that were giving them bad news and found nothing but a mixture of drinks and sweets. “what?” she asked eventually and slightly snappily. no ones eyes had left her face. “i knew you’d get head girl, lily.” the voice came from the corner of the carriage but she didn’t dare look. she knew that voice. she knew if she looked he’d be there, black fuzzed up bed hair and hot body. “james?” she asked slightly angrily, still refusing to look, leg fidgetting uncomfortably as she looked out of the window without focusing on anything but without blinking. “why are you in here?”
she knew the answer already. it explained everything. it explained why none of her friends had told her. it explained why the whole carriage was empty. dammit, she would get dumbledore for this. forget the personal thank you! he’d get a personal throttling if she had anything to do with this. she finally convinced herself to look at him, tilting her head and leaning it against the carriage doorway she was still stood in. her brilliant green eyes met his hazel ones and her lips snapped shut. she wasn’t sure if her mouth had been hanging open or not but right now, she was too worried about the fact that for the next few months she had to do more than resist him on a day to day lesson basis but she also had to share a common room with him, be far too close to him for her liking while she was sleeping, patrol with him, be at meetings with him as well as lessons and lunch and all the usual stuff. he’d be asking her out a million times a day. she flopped into the chair and she head hit the desk as un-painfully as she could manage. she shut her eyes. she could almost cry. how the hell was she going to resist him now?! she had to, she just had to! dumbledore planned this. planned the shock too. why the hell was he head boy when he hadn’t even been a prefect last year? plus, he was a bully! he was mischievious. his behaviour left a lot to be desired and he was just... just not head boy material! she almost sobbed at a feeling she couldn’t quite put her finger on. god he was making her nervous watching her like that. her eyes were closed but she could feels his eyes on her. maybe that was paranoia. the otherwise silent compartment wasn’t, however.
